Longwood vs. Floyd game log

Pre-game
• Longwood just filed into the stadium shortly before 2 p.m. Wearing brand new road whites, with gold numbers, the Lions stopped momentarily behind the south end zone to take a brief look at the field before heading into the locker room for their final preparations.
• No. 1 Islip defeated No. 2 Half Hollow Hills West 10-7 in the first game of the day — the Division III championship.
• Longwood just took the field for pre-game warmups — 90 minutes before kickoff.
• William Floyd just stepped off the buses and straight into the locker room — nearly an hour after Longwwood arrived.
• The Colonials head into today's game having given up just 62 points all season. They scored 361 points. The Lions have scored 191 and surrendered 121 points. To put it all in perspective: Unbeaten Floyd averages outscoring its opponents 40-7, while Longwood just barely hangs on 21-13.
• With running back Brock Jackolski and quarterback Joe Sidaras leading the way, the Colonials just took the field to begin stretching. Jackolski and Sidaras have been terrorizing opponents the last two years. This season Jackolski — the favorite to win the Hansen Award, given annually to Suffolk's best player — scored 27 touchdowns and Sidaras threw for 14 more.
Running back/ wide receiver Mike Parrish leads Longwood with 10 touchdowns heading into the championship game.

Jackolski 127 yards on 13 touches and a touchdown.
Sidaras 6-of-6 for 116 yards and two touchdowns.
Murphy has three catches for 40 yards and two scores.

Third Quarter

We're going to take it one drive at a time for a bit, unless this game gets a little closer.

• Floyd scores for a fourth consecutive series as Sidaras hits John Amato for a 36-yard touchdown on third and 19.
Colonials lead 27-0 with 10:35 left in the third quarter.

• Longwood's punt — looked like it might have originally been a fake — is blocked. Floyd takes over at the Longwood 8-yard line. It's a blood bath and there's still 20 minutes to go.
• Jackolski punches it in on third down from a yard away. Floyd — for some reason — fakes and goes for two to lead 35-0 with 6:40 left in the third.
• Sidaras has completed to five different receivers.

Fourth Quarter

• After both teams punted, William Floyd is threatening to score again at the start of the fourth.
• Subs are in for the Colonials, who missed a 25-yard field goal wide right. Longwood, trailing 35-0, will get the ball at its own 20 with 9:08 still to play.

• Parrish with a 33-yard run, the longest play of the day for Longwood, on a third down and 4 with 7:10 remaining.
• Wess had Billy Hedges open at the 2-yard line but the receiver couldn't hold on for the Lions' first score on a fourth down.

• Floyd adds one more score for good measure on a 2-yard run from Jarel Johnson. Two-point conversion — on what looked like it might have been a high snap — is good for a 43-0 Colonial victory .
