RP girls lax fall against Farmingdale

After undefeated runs through the regular season each of the past two seasons, the Rocky Point girls lacrosse team dropped a non-league contest against Farmingdale Saturday afternoon, 13-12.

The Eagles went 19-0 before losing in the Long Island championship in '06 and '07.
Saturday's loss was the first regular season loss for the Eagles since a 12-11 loss to Huntington on May 3, 2005.

Farmingdale is the defending Class A Long Island champion and advanced to the state final last year before losing to West Genesee, the top-ranked team in the country.
The Eagles beat Farmingdale last year, 9-7.

The 13 goals given up were the most the Eagles have surrendered since the '06 Long Island championship when Garden City scored 16 in an overtime win. The Eagles hadn't given up more than five this season coming into the game.

Shoreham-Wading River is now the last undefeated team in Suffolk County Division II.
